Mike Matos - Remembrance Planner
Mike Matos felt his calling to a career in funeral service at the age of 12 years old while attending a family member's funeral. At 19 years of age he accepted his first job with a local funeral home assisting people with pre-planning and burial insurance. In 2002, he earned his Certified Preplanning Consultant Designation by the National Funeral Directors Association.
After serving his apprenticeship, meeting the state's requirements, and passing the state exam, he became a licensed funeral director in 2004. Mike founded Vilonia Funeral Home after noticing that in today's economy many cannot afford high priced funerals and cremations.
Vilonia Funeral Home was established to provide the residents of Faulkner County and surrounding areas, affordable Funeral Service without compromising the quality of service you receive.
In addition to his funeral service career, Mike founded and pastored two churches. He attended Arkansas State University in Mountain Home where he studied Mortuary Science, and Phillips Community College of The University of Arkansas where he studied Business Management.
Mike is a member of Green Grove Lodge F&AM #107 in Conway, a member of the Valley of Little Rock Scottish Rite, an active member of the Vilonia Lions Club where he currently serves as Club President, and a current board member of the Vilonia Chamber of Commerce. He looks for every opportunity to serve the local community.
Mike is married to the love of his life, and business partner, Faith. They have three children, MyKala,; Kohlman; and Loren.
