Tracy Lorraine Alexander

January 25, 1923 — April 16, 2019

Tracy Lorraine Lucas Alexander of Conway died peacefully April 16, 2019 surrounded by family. She was born January 25, 1923 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Andrew Hampson Lucas and Lois Crisp Lucas. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Travis Alexander, her brothers James and Forest Chambers, and sister V.L. Stinnett. She is survived by her three children: Rick Alexander of Round Rock, TX, Kevin Alexander (Cheri) of Conway, AR and Kerry Goode (Michael) of Mounds, OK, grandchildren: Stephanie Atchison, Kelly Alexander (Cristina), Holly Huey (Shane), Travis Alexander, Senior Airman Scotty Alexander (USAF), Kyle Alexander (Hailee), Alex Goode (Kaila), Hayden Goode, Hayley Goode, and Kolton Goode, and 13 great-grandchildren with Lucas Goode making the number 14 in July, along with one great-great-grandchild, as well as many other family members and friends. Growing up in Little Rock, Tracy attended public schools, graduating from Little Rock Central High School where she met her future husband of 56 years, Raymond Travis Alexander. On November 28, 1942 she and Travis married in Pensacola, FL where he was proudly serving in the US Navy during World War II. During his military service they lived in several different cities, returning to Little Rock at the conclusion of the war. She worked at several Federal offices before serving as the Bookkeeper and Payroll Clerk of Travis’ businesses, Southern Dental Lab (1952-1967) and Central Dental Lab (1967-1990). Her most beloved jobs however were as Mom, Meep and Nana to her children and grandchildren, faithfully serving as chauffer, cheerleader, cook, and encourager, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on in any of their endeavors. She moved to Conway after Travis’s death where she made many friends, was active, independent and healthy-living in her own home until two days before she died. She was a world-class shopper, soap opera fan and QVC enthusiast and always had a smile on her face. In addition to her love of family and friends, she had a lifetime love of her pets including Rudy, Mena, Bootsie, Fang, Freddie, Max, Ming, and currently Nick and Noelle who miss their Mom already. Tracy joined her first gym at Conway Regional Fitness Center and was seen greeting all the workers there as often as five+ times per week. We are very grateful for her determination, optimism, stubbornness, independence and positive attitude-all of which helped keep her going. A special thanks to Dr. Craig Cummins and his nurse Brenda at Banister-Lieblong whose exceptional care helped her maintain her health so she could continue to do the things she loved until her death. A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, 700 South Government Avenue, Fayetteville, AR where Tracy will be joining Travis. She loved all animals. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Samaritan’s Purse – specifically the “Goats and Dairy Animals Project”, which while presenting the gospel of our risen Savior Jesus Christ, also provides families in need with milk for nourishment and additional income. Cremation Arrangements are under the care and direction of Vilonia Funeral Home and Cremation 1134 Main Street Vilonia, AR 72173. Sign the online guestbook at www.viloniafuneralhome.com
