Dorothy Sherline Brown

June 12, 1951 — January 22, 2022

Dorothy Sherline (Allen) Brown joined the Father in the early morning of Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 70 years young.

Shirley, as she was known by most, was brought into this world in Idabel, Oklahoma on June 12, 1951, to Ledna and Wallace O. Allen. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Being a devout Christian, she was someone who truly lived and loved like Christ. Her loving heart shone bright for all to feel and see.

Aside from her twenty-six grand and great-grandchildren, many called and considered her their Nanny. Nanny was someone that was there for everyone for whatever they had needed. While no amount of words could truly capture the heart of Nanny, her family would say, in summary, these words would do just fine, “Amen, Light, Love, Warrior, Fighter, Crafter, Dedicated, Reliable, Strong, Mender, Mentor, Spiritual, Fun-Loving, Giving, Servant, Spunky, Independent, Generous, Stubborn, Rock, Jesus-Loving, Special, Nanny, and Painter.” If you called her, she was probably busy crafting, spending time with family, hosting countless events, reading her Bible, or singing and dancing to Gospel music.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Ledna and W.O. Allen, brothers, Ricky Allen and Randy Powell, son-in-law, Brian Sherrod, grandson, Cory Johnson, and granddaughter, Allena Miller.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Brown; sons, James Webb (Krystal) of New Boston, Texas; Kimball Brown of Vilonia; daughters, Tammie Sherrod of Vilonia; Ledna Johnson (John) of Guy; Cynthia Fowlkes (Blake) of Vilonia; sisters Delorise “Bugs” Hensley (Gary) of Conway; Lindy Byard (Willy) of Greenbrier, Sheri Sands (Dean) of New Boston, Texas; brothers, Nolan Allen (Rhonda) of Lantey; Douglas Allen (Tonya) of New Boston, Texas; William “Bubba” Allen (Melinda) of New Boston, Texas; Ronnie Allen (Deanna) of New Boston, Texas; twenty grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many, many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, at 10:00 am in Trinity Faith Tabernacle, 56 N Broadview St., Greenbrier, Arkansas 72058, with Pastors Drew and Shelly Foster officiating. Burial will be private at Republican Cemetery in Greenbrier, Arkansas.

Pallbearers for the service are Matt Reynolds, Aron Truelove, Clay Allen, Cody Allen, Lynn Hensley, Kyle Macomber. Serving as honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, J.B. Jackson, Corey Jackson and Tristan Cochran.
