Dennis Wayne King

Dennis Wayne King, age 84, of Vilonia went to be with his Lord on November 21, 2023. He was born on November 12, 1939, in Swifton, Arkansas to the late Roy King and Nora Pitts King, Mr. King was a carpenter and retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church in Vilonia where he loved serving the Lord over the years. Over the years he has served as a Deacon, Usher, Trustee, Wednesday Night Director, and a Sunday School Teacher for the men’s class and taught the Master's Men. Mr. King was also a member of the American Legion, and he loved building things. Mr. King’s greatest love was his wife of 60 years, married May 17, 1963. His family meant everything to him, and he will be greatly missed by them and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Wayne King; brothers, Charles Leroy King, Floyd Wesley King, Billy Eugene King, Jerrell Andrew King, Johnny King, and Everett King; Sisters, Lula Mae Dellow and Francis Rowland.

He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Haner King and daughter Sharon Holsted (Patrick) and a brother Nathan King (Barbara). Grandchildren, Cory King, Jak Holsted and Madison Okvath, great grandchild Ryleigh Okvath and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Doctor Tyrone Lee. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the building fund of Mt. Carmel Church, 349 Hwy 107, Vilonia, AR 72173.

Funeral services will be held at Mount Carmel Church on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Vilonia, Arkansas.  Interment will follow at Beryl Cemetery in Vilonia, Arkansas.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
