Arthur Merle Montgomery

Arthur "Art" Montgomery, age 79, of Conway went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 8th, 2021.
Art was born on June 6, 1941, in Madison, Arkansas, to Charles and Callie Montgomery. He was a Christian and member of the Conway Cowboy Church. He retired from Democrat Publishing as a bookbinder. He was 35 years a Master Mason, Past Master of Green Grove Masonic Lodge in Conway, Scottish Rite 33rd degree, Member and Past Patron of the Order of The Easter Star Palmetto Chapter, and member of the Bendemeer Grotto. Art also served the Arkansas Grand Lodge as District Deputy Grand Master and also as Grand Tyler.
Art served as Santa Claus for over 40 years until the COVID-19 pandemic. He volunteered for Maumelle Center on the Lake Senior Services as well as various other organizations in the community. He was the first usher when War Memorial Stadium opened and ushered every year until the last Arkansas Razorback game. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, running dogs and spending time outdoors.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three children, Twila Barnd (Debbie) of Malvern; Tawana Fox (Mark) of Mayflower; Frank Montgomery (Michele) of Conway; brother, Bill Montgomery (Marie) of Van Buren, Arkansas; sister, Patricia Dingler (Larry) of Texas; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pat Montgomery, son, Authur Scott Montgomery, four siblings, Thomas, Charles, Mildred and Carolyn.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 13th, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Conway Cowboy Church 12 AR-36 Conway, AR 72032. Funeral Services will be 11:00am also at the church with Shane Dickson officiating. Burial will follow with masonic services at Gibson Memorial Cemetery in Sherwood, Arkansas
Pallbearers for the service are Benjamin Haile, Everett Stark, Tommy Barnes, Craig Montgomery, Bill Cummings, Bob Kemp, Jace DeLeon.
In lieu of flowers, Art would want you to make a donation to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
